"Hi, and welcome to South Street Bonfire Society. My name is Steve and I would like to introduce you to our society.

We are a family society, I have my children who hold different jobs within the society as well as my grandchildren being members.

If you come along to our social events and outmeetings you will meet all of us and see that we are one big family. I believe that every member has a right to say what they want from the society and should have the chance to get as involved in as much or little as they want. It’s important that we look after our young members, teach them all the different jobs and history of bonfire as they are the future.

So please join South Street Bonfire Society and become part of our big bonfire family, where you will make new friends that will last a life time."

South Street offers the opportunity for members of all ages to dress in costumes from our two pioneer groups as well as the ever popular brown and cream smugglers. First pioneer is Mid 18th Century (c.1750), while our second pioneer is the English civil war.
